Energy Committee

The Bristol Energy Committee was established in 2007 by the Selectboard with the mission to investigate the energy use in the Town of Bristol and make recommendations based on energy conservation and efficiency; consulting with and advising the town about energy related issues in zoning and alternative energy; assisting residents and businesses in understanding and reducing their energy use; working with the schools in exploring energy conservation and efficiency; and exploring energy conservation and efficiency in transportation.

The Bristol Energy Committee meets the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm at the Town Offices in Holley Hall.

Meet the Contractors with Button Up in Bristol
Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 7 PM – 9 PM
Holley Hall, 1 South Street, Bristol

Button Up Vermont and the Bristol Energy Committee will be hosting a free “Meet the Contractors” event on December 11, 2018 at Holley Hall at 7:00pm.

This informational session is the last chance to sign up for free contractor visits through Efficiency Vermont’s Button Up Vermont program.

Owners of homes and businesses in Bristol and the surrounding area are invited to meet participating contractors Nate Gusakov from Silver Maple Construction and Eric Hartman from Harvestar to learn how to improve energy efficiency in their homes.

• Free LED bulb (1 per household) for first 25 attendees.
• Drawing for a free NEST Smart Thermostat at the end of the evening.
• Sign up for free contractor walkthrough home energy surveys.
• Light refreshments will be served.

Home energy saving workshops are being offered in communities around the state this fall and winter.

Bristol Fire Department, 79 West Street, Bristol

Button Up Vermont and the Bristol Energy Committee will be hosting a free Mobile Home Energy Saving workshop on December 6, 2018 at the Bristol Fire Department at 7:00pm.

Tired of wasting money heating your home? You’ll learn how you can make changes and what resources are available to help you do it. You can sign up for free walk-throughs of your home by local contractors certified by Efficiency Vermont.

• Free LED bulb (1 per household) for first 25 attendees.

Presenters include representatives from Efficiency Vermont and the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity.

Light refreshments will be served!

The Bristol Energy Committee and Efficiency Vermont will be hosting a Home Energy Saving workshop on October 24, 2018 at Holley Hall at 7:00pm. This informational session is designed to help Vermonters learn the basics of building science and how to improve energy efficiency in their homes.

• Drawing for a Nest Thermostat at the end of the evening.
